Syracuse (4-3) @ #8 Miami (FL) (5-0)

    Hard Rock Stadium

    ESPN

Syracuse surprised the nation last week taking down Auburn.  They showed that they can really play good football under coach Dino Babers.  Miami has had some great games against both Florida State and Georgia Tech.  They needed last second drives to win both of those games.  They have shown the mental fortitude needed to pull those games out but how many times can you tempt fate?  The Miami defense ranks third in the nation in tackles for loss.  Syracuse gave up 6 sacks a week ago in their upset win against Clemson.  If the Miami pass rush doesn’t hit home, their secondary is suspect at best and Syracuse capitalizes on big plays.

    Prediction- Miami 31, Syracuse 27

#20 Central Florida (5-0) vs Navy (5-1)

    Saturday 10/21, 3:30 PM ET

    Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium

    CBSSN

McKenzie Milton might be the best player you haven’t heard of in college football this season.  As the QB for UCF, his yards per attempt are on par with Baker Mayfield.  His offense is one of the best and most efficient in the nation.  Navy lost in a thriller last week against Memphis but they have the running attack to compete against anyone in the nation.  They ran for 314 yards last week.  Nobody has rushed for 200 yards yet on the UCF defense this season but that could change this weekend.  It will be a big play, potent offense vs ball control triple option.

Prediction- Central Florida 38, Navy 31

#10 Oklahoma State (5-1) vs Texas (3-3)

    Saturday 10/21, 12 PM ET

    Royal Texas Memorial Stadium

    ABC

There are eight teams fighting for two spots in the conference title game.  Both of these teams have no margin for error the rest of the way.  Texas has to use its run game to establish control and keep the ball out of Mason Rudolph’s hands.  TCU gave the blueprint to defeat the Cowboys, run the ball and run wild.  They had a great game last weekend with Oklahoma and can play with anyone in this league.  Oklahoma State still has to go to WVU and play against Oklahoma but controls its own destiny.  Win out and set up a rematch with TCU for the Big 12 Title.

Prediction- Oklahoma State 38, Texas 28

#11 USC (6-1) vs #13 Notre Dame (5-1)

    Saturday 10/21, 7:30 PM ET

    Notre Dame Stadium

    NBC

The Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh.  Every time USC wins a Trojan head with a ruby, the year and the game score is added to the trophy.  Every time Notre Dame wins a shamrock with an emerald, the year and the game score is added.  It’s one of the biggest rivalries in college football and this game finally has meaning on the national level again.  USC has not impressed this season the way everyone thought they would.  They have the chance to make a statement here in South Bend against a very tough Fighting Irish squad.  Notre Dame lost in Week 1 to Georgia by a point and has been dominant ever since.  They have an impressive rushing attack led by Josh Adams. They have also won the turnover battle in every game this season.  This game will be the calling card for the Irish as they try to break into the College Football Playoff.

Prediction- Notre Dame 32, USC 24

#19 Michigan (5-1) vs #2 Penn St (6-0)

    Saturday 10/21, 7:30 PM ET

    Beaver Stadium

    ABC

Penn State is coming off of a bye week at the right time.  They have Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State for their next three opponents.  They need to win at least two of those three with one of those being Ohio State and they will compete for the Big 10 Title again.  Lead by Heisman Trophy candidate, Saquon Barkley, the Nittany Lions are ready to have a signature win.  Barkley needs to have a big game against this stacked Wolverines defense.  Last year he only rushed for 59 yards on 15 carries.  Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is 1-4 against Michigan State and Ohio State since returning to his alma mater.  However, he is 2-0 against Penn State.  If they win this game they are back in the discussion for the College Football Playoff.

Prediction- Penn State 20, Michigan 17
