Intriguing Week 2 NCAA Football Matchups & Week 1 Recap

Intriguing Week 2 NCAA Football Matchups & Week 1 Recap

Week 1 Recap

In week 1 we saw #1 Alabama come out on top over #3 ranked Florida State in a game where FSU quarterback was knocked out for the season.

We saw a Florida team unable to perform on the big stage against a strong Michigan team.

We witnessed an epic comeback by UCLA, edging out Texas A&M after being down 44-10 in the second half.

As huge underdogs, the Howard Bison shocked UNLV with a 43-40 road win.

And last night Tennessee came roaring back against Georgia Tech, winning with a 2pt Conversion stop in double OT.

Needless to say, it’s good to have football back!

Here are a few intriguing Week 2 matchups:

#5 Clemson vs. #12 Auburn

Saturday, Sept 9th – 7:00pm ET

After a week 1 blowout of MAC opponent Akron, the defending champion Clemson Tigers will face their first test against 1-0 Auburn. Auburn also had a week 1 warm-up game against Sun Belt foe, Georgia Southern. This matchup of Tigers should be a good one with home team Clemson having the leg up on Auburn.

#15 Georgia vs. Notre Dame

Saturday, Sept 9th – 7:30pm ET

After Georgia’s starting QB went down with a late hit in week 1, freshman QB, Jake Fromm led the Bulldogs to a relatively easy win over Appalachian State. This week against a stout Irish defense and an offense that put up 422 rushing yards against Temple, the Dogs will have their hands full.

#2 Ohio State vs. #7 Oklahoma

Saturday, Sept 9th – 7:30pm ET

Ohio State struggled at times against a pass heavy Indiana team in week 1. After halftime adjustments, they were able to put away the Hoosiers. However, Baker Mayfield and the Sooners are hoping to exploit those weaknesses shown by the Buckeyes. Week 2 at the Horseshoe could turn out to be a wild game.

#14 Stanford vs. #4 USC

Saturday, Sept 9th – 8:30pm ET

This Pac 12 matchup of in-state rivals could propel the winner to contention in this year’s College Football Playoff.  The USC offense sputtered against a good WMU team in week 1, but finished off the Broncos with a big 4th quarter. Stanford on the other hand, pummeled the Rice Owls allowing only 241 yards of total offense and forcing 2 turnovers. This is a must see week 2 game.
