Intriguing Week 6 NCAA Football Matchups and Week 5 Recap

Week 5 Recap

The Friday night match-up between #5 USC and #16 Washington State was a good one. A late field goal and a forced fumble helped secure the 30-27 victory for Washington State Cougars.

The other top ten teams all took care of business over the weekend, all vying to move up closer to Football Playoff contention.

#13 Auburn had no problem with #23 Mississippi State on Saturday with a 49-10 beatdown of the Bulldogs.

Florida State needed a late 40yd TD pass to beat Wake Forest to avoid a 0-3 start for the first time since 1976.

But the upset and game of the week goes to the Troy Trojans who went into Baton Rouge and beat LSU 24-21 shocking the Tiger faithful.

Now that the season is in full swing and we’re nearing the halfway mark, 1 loss teams will become more desperate to make a name and make statements to impress the committee.  Let’s take a look at the Week 6 matchups:

#17 Louisville vs. #24 NC State

Thursday, October 5th 8:00pm ET

This is a great way to start off this week of NCAA Football. These two ACC teams are 4-1 and look to take control of their conference standings. With the loss to Clemson earlier this year, Louisville cannot afford another conference loss.

#23 West Virginia vs. #8 TCU

Saturday, October 7th 3:30pm ET

Coming off a good win against #6 Oklahoma State, the Horned Frogs hope to continue their winning ways at home vs. West Virginia. Since their 7 pt week 1 loss to VT, the Mountaineers have scored 56 points or more and went 3-0.

#13 Miami vs. Florida State

Saturday, October 7th 3:30pm ET

Although FSU hasn’t played well this year and has a 1-2 record, you better believe that they will be aiming to ruin the Hurricane’s perfect start. Both teams looked much better this past weekend against ACC foes.

#1 Alabama vs. Texas A&M

Saturday, October 7th 7:15pm ET

Aside from their one point loss to UCLA in week 1, A&M has looked solid, starting 4-1 on the year. But we’ve seen this time and time again, a “solid” looking SEC team faces off against Alabama and gets pummeled. We will see if the Aggies can hang with the Tide.
